Calling All Lifeguards: Volusia County's Beach Safety Needs You This Summer!

Volusia County is ramping up its lifeguard team as the beach season approaches, hiring about 50 new seasonal lifeguards with plans to add 100 more. 75 Miles for the Fallen - Ormond Beach Police Chief Completes Tour de Force

Ormond Beach Police Chief Jesse Godfrey and Cpl. Rhett Summerlot completed the last segment of the Florida Tour de Force, a 75.8-mile bike ride from Titusville to Daytona Beach Shores. The event honors fallen law enforcement officers and serves as preparation for the upcoming Police Unity Tour. Their participation was deeply meaningful, particularly after the recent loss of their colleague, Cpl. Michael Bakaysa.
