⚖️ Updated Story: Ormond Man Faces Federal Charges for Threatening Trump

Federal charges have taken center stage in a case involving 25-year-old Sheldon Biddle of Ormond Beach. Biddle, who allegedly posted assassination threats against President Donald Trump on social platform X, is now facing a federal trial set for August 4.

The State Attorney’s Office dropped its charges after a grand jury indictment. Biddle’s social posts also targeted Elon Musk, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, and others, and reportedly included anti-semitic and racist content. He was rearrested by Ormond Beach police on June 5 and now awaits a detention hearing in Orlando.

The case underscores how online speech can lead to serious legal consequences, especially when it crosses into threat territory.

🎭 Ormond Beach to Host First International Day Festival

A celebration of culture is coming to town. The inaugural Ormond Beach International Day Festival will take over Rockefeller Gardens on June 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., showcasing the vibrant diversity within the community. Featuring music, dance, food, a petting zoo, and a parade of flags, the event will represent 18 countries and kick off with a Flag Day tribute at noon.

The event is the vision of William Sanchez, a local resident who founded the Cultural Awareness Fund to bring the idea to life. “There’s plenty of diversity here—it just needs a spotlight,” Sanchez said. The festival aims to foster community connection and cultural appreciation through shared celebration.
