Florida Trucker Arrested in Texas Using Unauthorized Ormond Address.

(UPDATE) Ormond Local Pulse has learned that Christopher John Lubowski, the 51 year old trucker arrested in Texas earlier in the week (see Issue #012) is apparently NOT, in fact, a current resident of Ormond Beach. The address he gave Texas police is his former address here in Ormond Beach. He sold the home some monthe ago to an Arkansas resident who moved to Ormond Beach in retirement. Speaking to the current resident, he stated that ever since he moved in to the property he has continued to receive mail addressed to Labowski, and even on one occasion, had a new washer and dryer destined to Labowski delivered to the home from a local appliance store, which he promptly refused. The homeowner contacted Texas police to point out the he was the owner of the property that Labowski wsa giving as his mailing address and sent them some documentation proving his ownership. The police also indicated that Labowski had given them a Texas residential address, but that his mailing address remained in Ormond Beach. The current owner is totally frustrated by this inasmuch as extensive investigation has proven fruitless to find a way to prevent this from continuing.

In an unexpected turn of events, Brenda Fecher, a Volusia County elementary school teacher, has inherited the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Ormond Beach, a burial ground with deep family ties dating back to the 1950s. Alongside her husband, Steven, Brenda has embarked on a heartfelt mission to restore the cemetery, reconnecting families with their ancestors and revitalizing the once-neglected site.

The cemetery, which came into Brenda's possession, was in a state of disrepair, with unmarked graves, broken headstones, and poorly kept records. The couple has dedicated the past two years to extensive clean-up efforts, including repairing fences, trimming trees, and constant lawn maintenance. This labor of love has transformed the cemetery into a place of pride for them.
