SpaceX and NASA Gear Up for Critical Resupply and Research Mission to ISS

NASA, alongside Northrop Grumman and SpaceX, is preparing for a pivotal resupply mission to the International Space Station, scheduled for launch no earlier than 12:07 p.m. EST on January 30. This mission, the 20th of its kind by Northrop Grumman, will deploy the Cygnus spacecraft aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral. The spacecraft, carrying over 8,200 pounds of supplies, is expected to reach the ISS by February 1.

The mission will be broadcast live by NASA, starting with the rendezvous and capture led by astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, followed by the installation process. The Cygnus will be attached to the Unity module's Earth-facing port.

This mission is crucial for several scientific endeavors. It will deliver the first surgical robot to the ISS, a platform for collecting data on re-entry thermal protection, a 3D culture for cartilage cell maintenance in low gravity, an autonomous semiconductor manufacturing unit, and a metal 3D printer for space-based manufacturing tests.

The spacecraft, named after former astronaut Patricia “Patty” Hilliard Robertson, will stay at the ISS until May, after which it will leave the station and burn up in the Earth's atmosphere.

Hard Rock Bet Takes Over Naming Rights for Daytona Speedway's Fanzone

Daytona International Speedway is renaming its popular UNOH Fanzone to the Hard Rock Bet Fanzone, starting from the 2024 events. The Fanzone, an integral part of the Speedway since 2004, offers fans unique infield access for an enhanced race viewing experience. The University of Northwestern Ohio, which had held the naming rights since 2017, will see its involvement change with this new partnership.

Hard Rock Bet, the sports betting division of Hard Rock Cafe, is taking over the naming rights. This collaboration will integrate the Hard Rock Bet app with NASCAR events, providing fans with interactive experiences. The app's availability on major mobile platforms and its status as the official sportsbook of Daytona International Speedway mark a significant step in fan engagement and sports betting in motorsports.

Daytona International Speedway's President, Frank Kelleher, and Hard Rock Digital's CEO, Marlon Goldstein, both expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. They emphasized the enhanced fan experiences at the Speedway's diverse events and the quick, efficient services offered by the Hard Rock Bet app.

44-Year-Old Man Arrested After Evading Police in Low-Speed Chase

Michael Pettit, 44, was arrested after a low-speed chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies, starting in Bunnell and ending in Holly Hill. The incident began with a failed routine traffic stop by a Bunnell police officer. Despite attempts by the Volusia Sheriff's Office and later by the Ormond Beach and Holly Hill Police Departments to stop him, Pettit continued to flee. Ormond Beach Police deployed stop sticks, but Pettit only stopped in a 7-Eleven parking lot in Holly Hill.

A Call to Action for Protecting Personal Information Online

Are you concerned about your online data privacy? Here are some tips:

Data Privacy Day, an observance that began in the US and Canada in 2008, highlights the importance of protecting personal information in an age where data is a valuable asset. The day, an extension of a European tradition, encourages individuals to reassess their digital privacy strategies.

Several measures can be used for enhancing online security. These include using strong, unique passwords, considering the use of password managers, and the potential shift towards passkeys for authentication. Two-factor authentication is recommended, with a caution against SMS-based methods due to SIM swapping risks.

Users are advised to be cautious about sharing personal information, even in routine online interactions. Using fake data for non-essential services, checking out as guests during online shopping, and requesting the deletion of online accounts can reduce data exposure.

VPNs are suggested for specific scenarios, especially when traveling, but users should be wary of free VPN services. Regular monitoring of financial accounts, freezing credit reports, and taking advantage of free credit monitoring services are also recommended.

Securing social media accounts and being mindful of the information shared, particularly in quizzes and games, is crucial. Users should regularly audit their app permissions and logins, and ensure all devices and software are updated to protect against security vulnerabilities.

Get Ready For A New Italian Restaurant Concept on February 1st!

In Ormond Beach, a new culinary experience is beginning on February 1, 2024 at 11am: Cavatelli Pasta Kitchen. This innovative restaurant is redefining the Italian dining experience, offering homemade pasta and sauces in a quick, casual, and affordable setting. It's a concept that bridges the gap between the luxury of high-end Italian eateries and the convenience of everyday dining.

At Cavatelli Pasta Kitchen, the focus is on delivering the rich, authentic flavors of American-Italian cuisine without the hefty price tag or the long wait. Imagine savoring dishes that you'd typically find in upscale Italian restaurants, but in a relaxed atmosphere where you can unwind with a glass of wine or a cold beer. The menu boasts not just exquisite pasta but also locally baked desserts and authentic Gelato, available for both dine-in and carryout.

The management team, led by Owner Phil Martin, Manager Schuyler O’Brien, and Chef Jeffrey Miller, has a combined experience of 70 years, and is committed to creating a unique dining experience in today's post-COVID economy. Their immediate goal is crystal clear: 100% customer satisfaction. They aim to achieve this through exceptional service and flawless execution of a business model that resonates with today's consumer.

Phil Martin, a dedicated member of local Rotary clubs and a community volunteer for 20 years, ensures that the restaurant will serve its local customers and community with pride. Many of the vendors are local, featuring items like local bakery cakes, gelato, and Ormand Brewery beers on tap.

The restaurant's philosophy is simple: to make fresh pasta and wine an everyday indulgence. The menu, crafted with 100% Italian Semolina flour, offers a blend of traditional sauces and American favorites. Everything is prepared fresh, with no microwaves or deep fryers in sight. The selection extends to salads, panini sandwiches, and homemade soups.

Ordering at Cavatelli Pasta Kitchen is a breeze. Guests can select their favorite wine while perusing the menu, order at the counter, and then relax as the friendly staff delivers food tableside or packages it for takeaway. The restaurant also caters to families, offering generous family-sized portions for carryout and catering.

Looking ahead, the team at Cavatelli Pasta Kitchen aspires to bring their unique dining concept to DeLand and other parts of Volusia County through manageable, conservative growth.

In summary, Cavatelli Pasta Kitchen is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary revolution. It's where quality meets convenience, where community ties are strengthened, and where every meal is an affordable luxury. Welcome to the new era of Italian dining!
