From Cute to Cognitive-The Reasons Dogs Tilt Their Heads

Dogs often tilt their heads in response to human voices or unusual sounds like whistles, a gesture that is as cute as it is intriguing. This behavior may help them locate sounds more accurately and see more clearly, depending on their muzzle shape. Additionally, it can indicate cognitive processing, as dogs often tilt their heads when they recognize familiar commands or toys. This suggests that not only are they listening intently, but they are also engaging with what they hear on a deeper level.
