Ormond Beach's Novel Tea Book Shop is set to celebrate its first Independent Bookstore Day on April 27 at 150 Tomoka Ave. Featuring twelve local authors, a selfie booth, and a raffle for a book-themed gift basket, the event promises a full day of activities from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Opened just last year, Novel Tea joins over 900 other stores nationwide in highlighting the importance of independent bookstores. The event serves as a thank you to the community, with fun engagements that encourage reading and support for indie authors.

Volusia's Transit Makeover From Route Cuts to New Rideshare Options, What You Need to Know

Volusia County is preparing for a number of public transit alterations, with public meetings slated from April 29 to May 1 to discuss these changes, including the introduction of the VoRide service and the new DeLand SunRail Station. Route adjustments in East Volusia will streamline paths and improve service frequency, while West Volusia will see several route eliminations compensated by expanded services on other routes and VoRide. Volusia County is gearing up for an astronomical treat with two SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets slated for launch this Wednesday and Thursday. These launches aim to deploy additional Starlink satellites, enhancing global internet coverage. Viewers can track real-time updates and launch timings via FLORIDA TODAY’s rocket launch calendar. Although SpaceX has not confirmed these events, external sources like a navigational warning from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency suggest the missions are set.
