FDOT Begins Major Road Safety Overhaul on Granada Boulevard

The Florida Department of Transportation has initiated a $9.2 million safety upgrade on Granada Boulevard in downtown Ormond Beach. The project, focused on repaving and reconfiguring State Road 40, will narrow lanes and introduce shifts in alignment to reduce driving speeds. Key features include a new pedestrian crossing, enhancements to existing crosswalks, improved intersection lighting, and the installation of new bicycle lanes. The project, which began after a public consultation in August 2022, preserves all current sidewalks and parking.
