Two Arrested in Ormond Beach Motorcycle Theft; One Suspect Bitten by Police K-9

Two men, Cooley Buford and Dylan Thomas, were arrested in Ormond Beach for their alleged involvement in a motorcycle theft. The arrest occurred after a license plate reader detected the stolen motorcycle. Buford, who fled and resisted arrest, was bitten by a K-9 and later hospitalized. He faces charges including grand theft and burglary, while Thomas was charged with narcotics possession. The local police chief commended the coordinated efforts in handling the situation.

Ormond Beach to Host Mobile Pet Clinic Offering Vaccinations and Free Microchipping

The Animal Services Mobile Clinic will be at Cardinal Drive Beach Park in Ormond Beach on Monday, June 3, from 8 a.m. to noon, offering vaccinations and free microchipping for pets. This service is available to Volusia County residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Vaccinations are priced at $10, but microchipping is free. Residents are advised to provide proof of residency and arrive early to access the services.

Ormond Beach
The City of Ormond Beach Leisure Services Department’s Memorial Remembrance Committee, along with American Legion Post 267 and American Legion Unit 267, invites the community to a Memorial Day Remembrance Event. Holly Hill
Join the Memorial Day Ceremony hosted by American Legion Post 120 at 9 a.m. on Monday. The event will be held at 1065 S.Ridgewood Ave., Holly Hill. Details can be found at hollyhillfl.org.

Daytona Beach
A Memorial Day Remembrance featuring guest speakers, a gun salute, music, and refreshments will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach. Visit daytonabeach.com for more information.

New Smyrna Beach
The City of New Smyrna Beach is hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday. This event will feature music by the American Spirit Brass Band and remarks from U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Robert Caslen Jr. and U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Col. Ken Martin, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Brannon Center, 105 S. Riverside Drive, New Smyrna Beach. Ponce Inlet
The Ponce Inlet Veteran’s Memorial Association is presenting a Memorial Day Ceremony at 9 a.m. on Monday at the Ponce Inlet Veterans Memorial at Davies Lighthouse Park, 4931 S. Peninsula Drive, Ponce Inlet. More information is available at ponce-inlet.org.

Port Orange
A Memorial Day Ceremony, presented by VFW Post 3282 and the Port Orange Parks and Recreation Department, will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday. The ceremony will take place at Veterans Park, 4655 City Center Circle, Port Orange, to honor those who have sacrificed for freedom. Visit port-orange.org for more details.

Ormond Beach Police Department

•Tony Lee Flournoy, 41, of Ormond Beach, was arrested May 13 and charged with domestic battery by strangulation, battery, child abuse and neglect of a child. Bail was set at $36,000.

•Dana M. Micallef, 47, of Ormond Beach, was arrested May 13 and charged with battery. Bail was not set.

•Robert D. Morrow, 49, of Ormond Beach, was arrested May 15 and charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and aggravated battery. Bail was set at $10,000.

•Kimberly Ann Olensky, 36, of Ormond Beach, was arrested May 15 and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, resist arrest with violence and principal grand theft. Bail was set at $5,000.

Volusia County Sheriff's Office

•Michael Anthony Knox, 31, of Holly Hill, was arrested May 10 and charged with burglary of an occupied structure, possession of paraphernalia and criminal mischief/damage property. Bail was set at $300.

•Callie Y. Keith, 44, of Holly Hill, was arrested May 11 and charged with resisting an officer without violence, possession of paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and petit theft. Bail was set at $6,000.

•Paul Emund Waz, 43, of Holly Hill, was arrested May 12 and charged with unregistered motor vehicle, driving while license revoked and failure to have required endorsement on driving license. Bail was set at $2,800.

•Jordan L. Harris McGraw, 26, of Ormond Beach, was arrested May 12 and charged with aggravated assault. Bail was set at $10,000.

•Matthew M. Arnold, 32, of Holly Hill, was arrested May 13 and charged with petit theft. Bail was set at $5,000.

•Chad G. Staples, 37, of Ormond Beach, was arrested May 13 and charged with dealing in stolen property and false owner information on pawned items. Bail was set at $60,000.

•David Edell Carley, 53, of Ormond Beach, was arrested May 14 and charged with aggravated assault. Bail was not set.
