Deb Denys Challenges Jeff Brower on Leadership and Development at Forum

The four candidates for Volusia County Council chairperson faced off in a forum, with former councilwoman Deb Denys challenging incumbent Jeff Brower. The event in DeLeon Springs focused on real estate development. Brower, known for his vocal stance on development issues, emphasized the need for new practices to prevent flooding, a sentiment that resonated with some attendees. Denys criticized Brower’s rhetoric, questioning the lack of significant changes during his term and calling for new leadership. The candidates also debated the extent of the chairman’s authority over city development policies, with Brower advocating for collaborative solutions. (Daytona News-Journal)
