Ohio Man Bitten by Shark on Independence Day at New Smyrna Beach

Connor Graham Baker, a 21-year-old from Ohio, was bitten by a shark while playing football in knee-deep water at New Smyrna Beach on Independence Day. This is the third shark bite in Volusia County this year. New Smyrna Beach, known for frequent shark encounters, had eight shark bites in 2023. Beachgoers are advised to take precautions to minimize the risk of shark bites.
Among other things, don't wear shiny jewelry, as it catches the light like scales, which might make sharks mistake people for fish. (Full Story at Daytona News-Journal) $
