Thinking About Becoming A Food Critic?

Pete Wells, a prominent New York Times restaurant critic, is stepping down from his role due to health issues linked to his extensive eating habits. The job typically involves multiple visits and extensive sampling, which can be detrimental to one's health. Research supports the challenges, showing many restaurant meals are nutritionally poor. Critics like Lyndsay Green are adapting by prioritizing health outside work. Wells will remain at The Times in a different capacity, seeking a better balance in his life.
