WHAT? AGAIN? Second Trump Assassination Attempt Sunday
Kudos to the observant and quick thinking Secret Service agent whose shots scared off a shooter apparently poised to assassinate former President Donald Trump Sunday at his West Palm Beach Golf course.
BUT..the question remains: How is it possible that, once again, a shooter could get so close to a Secret Service protectee? How is it that a painfully obvious exposure remained un-surveilled while the protectee was in the area? These are similar to the questions asked of the situation in Butler, PA just a few weeks ago.
Given the current political and world tensions and credible threats from foreign actors, all our government officials should be afforded the highest and most expert security coverage. Did the Secret Service not learn their lesson in Butler?
Had it not been for the quick actions of a private citizen and the local sheriff's, the would be assassin might still be on the loose. Apparently the Secret Service had no presence outside the venue. We will learn more details in the coming day, hopefully.
Citizens need to demand that Congress get to the bottom of these failures forthwith, before another attempt is made on someone's life. If this lack of coverage is politically motivated, it needs to stop. If it's due to incompetence, heads need to roll and people need to be held accountable. They need to be fired from positions and stripped of pensions. No more convenient retirements and resignations.
D.C. needs to be reminded that they work for us, not the other way around.

Police Investigate Daytona Beach Shooting After Early Sunday Morning Confrontation
The Daytona Beach Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning near the intersection of Madison Avenue and Beach Street, just east of U.S. 1. Officers were called to the scene around 7:45 a.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting the incident.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, a man claimed he had been assaulted by another individual outside a building in the area. During the confrontation, a physical altercation ensued, and a firearm in the man's possession discharged, striking the other individual in the head.
The victim was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center, but details about his condition remain unavailable. Authorities have not filed charges or made any arrests as of Sunday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing, and police have indicated that further information, including video footage, will not be released at this time.
