Special Election Set as Michael Waltz Joins Trump Administration as National Security Advisor

Representative Michael Waltz, a decorated U.S. Army veteran and staunch Trump ally, has been appointed as National Security Advisor by President-elect Donald Trump, prompting a special election in Florida's 6th congressional district. Waltz’s extensive background in defense and counter-terrorism, alongside his congressional experience, make him a fitting choice for the role. Early names floated for his replacement include former Flagler County Commissioner Joe Mullins and outgoing Florida House Speaker Paul Renner, with the election details to be managed by Governor Ron DeSantis.

Virginia Boy, 11, Sentenced to High-Risk Program After Multiple Swatting Calls to Flagler Schools

An 11-year-old Virginia boy has been sentenced to a high-risk juvenile program after making 21 swatting calls to Flagler County schools, including Buddy Taylor Middle School. These false threats of shootings and bombings caused significant disruptions as the previous academic year concluded. Flagler County Judge D. Melissa Distler adjudicated the boy and ordered his detention in Volusia County until his placement in the high-risk program, which will provide counseling, mental health treatment, and education. Additionally, the court mandated restitution of $46,234.33 to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office to cover the expenses incurred during the response and investigation of these threats.
