Each box, which can feed a family of six, has been donated by the Volusia Basket Brigade, a nonprofit organization that prepares and delivers Thanksgiving boxes to families in need. With proof of military service, veterans can pick up a box of food at these Veterans Services offices from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, on a first-come, first-served basis and while supplies last:

Planning Board Blocks Ellianos Coffee Proposal Amid Congestion Fears
Courtesy Photo
The Ormond Beach Planning Board has recommended rejecting a proposal for an Ellianos Coffee drive-thru in the parking lot of the Winn-Dixie on Granada Boulevard, citing traffic concerns. The developer, KJUMP Incorporated, sought waivers to city codes requiring a landscaping buffer and sufficient vehicle stacking space, but board members raised doubts about the impact on an already congested area.
While city staff supported the waivers, arguing that the small coffee shop would generate limited traffic and included safeguards against direct access from Granada Boulevard, board members pointed to persistent issues with a nearby Starbucks as a cautionary example. Proponents emphasized the project’s potential to utilize underused parking lot space without significant disruption.
Ultimately, traffic and infrastructure concerns led to a 3-1 vote against the plan. The City Commission will decide on the waivers in January.
Electric Bikes Offer Visitors a Modern Spin on Daytona’s Historic Sands

Daytona Beach, known for its iconic history with automobiles and the first NASCAR race, now offers visitors a modern way to explore its famous sands: electric bikes. Phil Reingowsky, a former NASCAR communications expert, runs Magnum Bikes of Daytona, where riders can rent e-bikes designed for both sand and streets.
The shop, located on Seabreeze Boulevard, offers rentals starting at $30 for an hour. Riders can explore scenic routes, including the beach, the Daytona Boardwalk, and Ponce Inlet’s Lighthouse and Museum. The electric bikes, equipped with wide tires and powerful motors, allow users to pedal or cruise with a throttle, making it an accessible option for all.
Reingowsky’s team also provides locks, accessories, and safety gear, along with route suggestions tailored to the rider’s preferences. For visitors seeking a leisurely yet adventurous way to experience Daytona Beach, these bikes offer the perfect solution.

We’re Not Alone(?) Witnesses Claim Pentagon Withholding Critical UFO Evidence
Testimony during a congressional hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) revealed allegations of a secret Pentagon program, “Immaculate Constellation,” designed to conceal UAP research. Witnesses, including former Pentagon official Luiz Elizondo, accused the government of fostering a “culture of suppression” and called for increased transparency, centralized oversight, and whistleblower protections.
Retired Navy Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet detailed a 2015 naval exercise where UAP encounters caused near-collisions, leading to a military email warning of an “urgent safety of flight issue.” He described the disappearance of a related video and highlighted the public safety risks of government secrecy.
Journalist Michael Shellenberger presented a whistleblower report claiming “Immaculate Constellation” was established in 2017 to manage classified UAP research. The report referenced advanced UAP characteristics and evidence gathered by military personnel.
Witnesses urged Congress to act swiftly, emphasizing the issue’s implications for national security and public trust.
