Holiday Trash Collection
CHRISTMAS
For unincorporated Volusia County residents (any place outside all city limits), there will be no garbage, recycling, bulk waste or yard waste collection on Wednesday, Christmas Day, December 25, 2024. Collection days normally scheduled between December 25 and December 27 will take place the following day. For instance, Wednesday collection will be on Thursday. Please place items at the curb by 6 a.m. on your make-up collection day for collection.

FACILITY HOLIDAY HOURS
Both the West Volusia Transfer Station and the Tomoka Farms Road Landfill be closed on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Normal hours of operation for both facilities will resume on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Volusia County Solid Waste Administration offices will be closed in observance of Christmas on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Administration offices will re-open Thursday, December 26, at 8 a.m.

Votran and VoRide will adjust their services and administrative operations on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. On both holidays, Votran buses will operate on a regular Sunday schedule. Routes and services that do not typically run on Sundays, such as the New Smyrna Beach Flex and the DeLand SunRail Circulator, will not operate. Votran Gold Service will provide limited service in East Volusia only, and VoRide services will not be available on these dates.
Volusia County Transit Services administrative offices and Votran’s customer service center will also be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Regular service and administrative operations will continue as usual on all other days, including Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.
