NOTICE: This week we will be publishing an a abbreviated vacation schedule version of the newsletter with no news section through next Saturday. Sunday’s edition will get caught up on the news. We hope you enjoy the Christmas holiday week with your family and friends.

Votran and VoRide will adjust their services and administrative operations on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. On both holidays, Votran buses will operate on a regular Sunday schedule. Routes and services that do not typically run on Sundays, such as the New Smyrna Beach Flex and the DeLand SunRail Circulator, will not operate. Votran Gold Service will provide limited service in East Volusia only, and VoRide services will not be available on these dates.

Volusia County Transit Services administrative offices and Votran’s customer service center will also be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Regular service and administrative operations will continue as usual on all other days, including Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.

  • Paul Douglas Brown, 65, arrested Dec. 13 for battery on a person 65 or older. No bail.

  • Catherine E. Breitmaier, 70, arrested Dec. 16 for battery on a person 65 or older. No bail.

  • Thomas H. Tevenar, 59, arrested Dec. 17 for aggravated battery and domestic battery by strangulation. No bail.

Holly Hill Police Department

  • Charles T. Ruckman, 44, arrested Dec. 17 for cocaine possession and paraphernalia. Bail: $1,500.

Volusia County Sheriff's Office

  • Danielle Leigh Boyle, 41, arrested Dec. 13 for battery on a law enforcement officer. Bail: $2,500.

  • Samuel Morris Swift, 43, arrested Dec. 17 for battery. Bail: $2,500.

  • Brandon Christopher Creeden, 37, arrested Dec. 18 for battery on a person 65 or older. Bail: $2,500.
