SpaceX is poised for another Starlink mission with a Falcon 9 launch early Monday from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The 5:43 a.m. liftoff will carry 21 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit. After the deployment, the rocket’s first-stage booster will target a landing on a droneship in the Atlantic, marking its 21st flight.

Backup launch opportunities extend until 7:42 a.m., with additional windows opening Tuesday morning if delays occur. The 45th Weather Squadron predicts a 95% chance of favorable conditions for the launch.

The Starlink deployment is part of a double feature for SpaceX on Monday, with the Maxar 3 mission slated to lift off later that evening from Kennedy Space Center. That launch window opens at 6:32 p.m., further showcasing the company's ability to handle back-to-back missions. the installation of a projector. According to sources, the improvements aim to create a more efficient and inviting environment for job seekers and employers alike.

Embry-Riddle Professor Weighs in on Fatal Air Collision Near D.C.

Dr Michael McCormick - Image Spectrum News

An Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University professor offered expert insight into the ongoing investigation of a fatal crash involving an American Airlines passenger jet and a Black Hawk helicopter near Washington, D.C. Dr. Michael McCormick, an air traffic management expert, described the region's airspace as uniquely complex due to the presence of three major airports and enhanced security protocols implemented after the 9/11 attacks.

Possible factors contributing to the collision include the time of day, runway configuration, and equipment used by the helicopter crew. McCormick emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation to understand the incident and prevent future occurrences.

He also highlighted the extensive training required for air traffic controllers, noting that only the most capable candidates complete the multi-year process.

Embry-Riddle mourned the loss of alumnus Capt. Jonathan Campos, who was among those involved in the crash. The university extended condolences to his family and all affected.

Up to 700 Single-Family Homes Proposed for Daytona Beach Development Site Near Ormond

Developers of the O’Connor Capital project in Daytona Beach are seeking a rezoning amendment to convert a largely commercial development into a single-family residential community. Located near Interstate 95 and Williamson Boulevard, the 214.6-acre property was initially intended for commercial and multifamily housing but is now being reconsidered for 600 to 700 single-family homes.

Timberline Real Estate Partners and O’Connor Capital presented the revised plan at a Jan. 20 neighborhood meeting, citing rising land values and changing market conditions as key reasons for the shift. The area’s proximity to healthcare facilities such as the VA Clinic and the under-construction Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital makes it attractive for residential living.

Developers envision homes for middle-income workers, although no units will be classified as affordable housing. The proposal will be reviewed by the Daytona Beach Planning Board in February or March.
