Nestlé USA has issued a nationwide recall and permanent discontinuation of Gerber Soothe 'n' Chew Teething Sticks following reports of choking hazards, according to sources familiar with the matter. The recall was prompted after consumer complaints, including at least one incident requiring emergency medical attention.
The product, promoted as a novel edible teether for young children, was distributed online and through retail outlets across 45 states, including Florida, as well as Puerto Rico. Multiple varieties and package sizes, including the Strawberry Apple and Banana flavors, are affected.
Company representatives expressed regret over the situation, stating that they are cooperating fully with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Parents and caregivers are advised not to use the teething sticks and to return them for a refund. Consumers with health concerns related to the product are encouraged to contact healthcare providers.
Nestlé assured that it remains committed to child safety and product quality, while industry experts noted that the incident underscores the critical importance of rigorous safety standards for infant products. For any additional support needed, Gerber is available 24/7 at 1-800-4-GERBER (1-800-443-7237).

I’m Going To Be Late, Honey
A 56-year-old woman from Ormond Beach faces legal trouble after being caught shoplifting over $80 worth of items from a local grocery store, according to police. Initially claiming she had forgotten her debit card in the car, the woman later admitted to the theft and revealed she had stolen from the store on at least a dozen prior occasions.
The store manager, who recognized her as a former employee with a history of shoplifting, observed her taking various items, including milk, soda, and laundry detergent, before exiting without paying. Store employees confronted her outside and escorted her back to wait for police.
The woman admitted to stealing $177 worth of goods the previous week. Authorities issued a court summons and a trespass warning. During the investigation, she reportedly told her husband by phone that she would be "late" due to being caught.
