Happenings in Ormond Beach & Daytona Beach!

Big things are happening in our community, from new business expansions to acts of generosity that will leave a lasting impact. Let’s dive into what’s new!

First, for those looking to explore the supernatural, psychic medium Michelle Davidson has opened a new studio in Ormond Beach. Davidson offers psychic readings by appointment, as well as mini-reading nights for walk-ins and sound meditation sessions using crystal singing bowls. She also hosts a monthly “Paranormal Parlor,” where guests can discuss personal encounters with spirits and hear about her journey as a psychic. The first session, "Spirit Speaks," is set for March 16 and includes a small psychic cleansing kit. Davidson hopes to help others embrace their spiritual path while learning from past experiences. If you’re curious about tapping into the unknown, check out her website for more details. Source

Speaking of helping others, a group of local students is making life easier for homeowners by tackling household tasks. The To-Do Dudes, a team of hardworking students offering services like yard work, furniture moving, event setup, and tech assistance, have expanded their reach to Daytona Beach. Originally launched in Flagler County in 2020, the company has now completed over 5,000 projects and helped more than 2,000 customers. Beyond lending a hand, the business provides flexible work opportunities for students, allowing them to earn money while keeping up with their studies. If your to-do list is getting out of hand, you can now book the To-Do Dudes in Daytona Beach. To book the To-Do Dudes, visit book.thetododudes.com or call 386-597-0722. Source

While there are plenty of positive stories in the community, there was also a tragic event this past week. Early Sunday morning, a 74-year-old Ormond Beach woman was killed in a head-on collision in Port Orange. The accident, which occurred on Tomoka Farms Road, left two other individuals seriously injured. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, but the incident is a heartbreaking reminder of the importance of road safety. Our thoughts go out to the families affected. Source

On a brighter note, generosity was in the spotlight as Cici and Hyatt Brown were recognized as the inaugural winners of the Daytona Beach News-Journal Impact Awards. Their $150 million donation to the Museum of Arts and Sciences will fund a new main building and an endowment to ensure its long-term success. Their philanthropic efforts have already transformed parts of Daytona Beach, including the stunning Riverfront Esplanade. Their commitment to arts and culture will benefit the community for generations to come, and this well-deserved recognition highlights the power of giving back. See the original story for the many runners-up! Source
