🛥️ Shrimp Boat Washes Ashore in Flagler Beach
Beachgoers in Flagler Beach got an unexpected sight over the weekend—a shrimp boat stranded onshore. The vessel ran aground near 2480 North Oceanshore Boulevard around 6 p.m. Saturday, prompting a response from the Flagler Beach Fire Department.
Rescue teams initially found no one aboard, sparking concerns about the crew’s safety. Fortunately, all crew members were later accounted for by the U.S. Coast Guard. The scene has since been turned over to law enforcement and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for further investigation.
While the boat’s journey ended on the sand, questions remain about what led it there. For now, it’s the talk of the shoreline.

🚨 Overnight Shooting Leaves One Dead, Three Injured in Daytona Beach
A late-night gathering in Daytona Beach turned tragic early Sunday morning when a shooting left four people injured—one fatally. Around 3:30 a.m., Daytona Beach Police responded to Ontario Court, where they found one victim at the scene who later succumbed to injuries. Three other victims arrived at a local hospital, two in critical condition and one released after treatment.
Police believe all victims were involved in the same incident, which they currently consider isolated. Neighbors reported ongoing parties in the area over recent weeks, including gatherings of 30 or more people in the parking lot. Residents have voiced concerns about safety, especially given the timing of the tragedy on Palm Sunday.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Detective Edwin Soto at (386) 671-5420 or via email at [email protected].

🥔 Marshmallows, Potatoes, and the Rise of Budget-Friendly Easter Eggs
Egg dyeing traditions are taking a turn this year, and it’s not just because of artistic flair—prices are to blame. With the cost of a dozen eggs reaching over $6 in some areas, parents and crafters are getting creative. From dyeing marshmallows to using potatoes and foil-covered cardboard, families are finding fun alternatives without cracking the budget.
Social media is fueling the movement with DIY tutorials showing marshmallow chicks and potato masterpieces. Craft retailers like Michaels report a bump in sales of plastic and cardboard egg kits, while even Play-Doh eggs are making appearances in Easter baskets.
For many, the spirit of the holiday is less about the eggs and more about the shared experience. As one crafty mom put it, “It’s about the memory, not the menu.”
