As of that morning, Volusia had recorded 1,523 nests: 1,448 loggerhead, 63 green, 6 leatherback and 6 Kemp's Ridley nests. Outdoor enthusiasts can join the Tides and Waves for Outdoor Adventures webinar Aug. 19, while professionals can earn continuing education credits during Pesticide CEU Day on Aug. 21. Younger residents can get involved with the Dairy and Meat Goat Showmanship Workshop on Aug. 23 and the 4-H Open House – Welcome Back Bash on Aug. 28. Several programs are free, while others require a registration fee.
