🏗️ Avalon Park Lawsuit Narrows as Talks Continue
The legal dispute over utility service for the proposed Avalon Park Daytona development has taken a new turn. Avalon Park Group has voluntarily dismissed its state circuit court lawsuit against Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach, saying the decision follows several weeks of productive collaboration between the parties. The dismissal leaves the door open for future legal action if needed, while Daytona Beach's cross-claim against Ormond Beach remains on track for trial in September. Meanwhile, Avalon Park's separate federal lawsuit continues, with the developer opposing Ormond Beach's request to dismiss the case. As discussions move forward, both cities and the developer say they remain focused on finding a solution that serves the growing region and its taxpayers.

🎖️ Workshop Aims to Connect Employers with Veteran Talent

The county's Veterans Services Division, in partnership with NXT Mission and CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia, will host the Camouflage to Corporate workshop on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. The free program will provide employers with practical strategies for recruiting, hiring and retaining veterans and military spouses while highlighting available workforce resources and partnership opportunities. Coffee, snacks and lunch will be provided, but advance registration is required.
