🍎 Free Summer Meals Available in Daytona, Holly Hill & Ormond

As the school year wraps up, families in Daytona Beach, Holly Hill and Ormond Beach can take advantage of free breakfast and lunch for children 18 and younger through the USDA Summer Food Service Program.

School Way Café, a department of Volusia County Schools, will serve meals Monday, June 8, through Tuesday, July 28 at select sites.

In Daytona Beach, participating schools include Campbell Middle, Mainland High, Palm Terrace Elementary, R.J. Longstreet Elementary, Turie T. Small Elementary and Westside Elementary. In Holly Hill, Holly Hill School will serve meals. In Ormond Beach, Pine Trail Elementary will participate.

Meals are served Monday through Thursday and must be eaten on site. Families not enrolled in summer programs must pre-register and order meals 24 hours in advance by contacting the school’s front office.

All sites will close June 19 and July 4. For more information, call Volusia County Human Services at 386-736-5955.

🎓 Seabreeze High School Class of 2026 Celebrates at Ocean Center

Cheers echoed through the Ocean Center on May 29 as 393 graduates from Seabreeze High School crossed the stage.

The Class of 2026 posted a 90% college and career acceleration rate, with students earning 361 industry scholar designations. In total, 99 seniors earned scholar honors, 23 received the Florida Seal of Biliteracy and 30 achieved the Florida Seal of Fine Arts.

Valedictorian Austin Upchurch and salutatorian Allison Pate led a class that logged more than 37,000 community service hours. Seven graduates are headed to the U.S. armed forces.

Academically, 11 students completed associate degrees through dual enrollment, and the class earned more than $4.1 million in scholarships.

For the Sandcrabs, the ceremony marked not just the end of high school — but the beginning of a wide range of new journeys.
