South Beach Street To Be Closed Jan 17 - Jan 23

South Beach Street will be closed between Ellsworth Avenue and Sylvania Place on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 to Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024 to allow for a storm water system upgrade. During this closure, through traffic will be detoured using Ellsworth Avenue, South Ridgewood Avenue, and Sylvania Place, please carefully follow the signs for detours. Once work is complete the roadway segment will be opened and traffic will be permitted to resume.

Donnie's Donuts, popular donut shop in Ormond Beach, has closed its beachside location on E. Granada Blvd. due to rising operational costs and the impact of the 2022 hurricane season. Owners Donald and Patti Summerlin announced the closure on their Facebook page, expressing sadness but optimism for their remaining Daytona Beach store at One Daytona.

The decision to consolidate operations was influenced by financial challenges and the need to focus on their core business values. Despite leaving the beachside, the Summerlins are hopeful for the area's recovery and remain committed to serving the community from their Daytona location, which features extended hours and new services like delivery and online ordering.

Quaker Oats Widens Previous Recall For Possible Contamination

Quaker Oats has widened the recall previously noted here a few weeks ago to include many more of their products. This recall includes Quaker Chewy Granola Bars and Cereals, Cap’n Crunch Bars and select Cereals, Gamesa Marias Cereal, Gatorade Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Bars, Munchies Munch Mix and Snack Boxes that include these products.

The Halifax Humane Society's Community Dog Park, is an expansive three-acre park, supported by a $400,000 grant from the Volusia County Echo program, is strategically situated off I-95, making it an ideal spot for both local residents and pet-loving travelers.

Open daily from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, the park caters to canines of all sizes with designated areas for large and small dogs. This division ensures a safe and enjoyable environment for dogs to play and socialize.

To ensure the well-being and safety of all visitors, the park has established clear guidelines for its canine guests. All dogs must be friendly, spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, licensed, and in good health. These rules are in place to maintain a harmonious and healthy atmosphere for everyone.

The dog park is located at the Halifax Humane Society, behind the Culler Boarding, Grooming & Travel Center, at 2364 LPGA Boulevard, Daytona Beach, FL 32124. Its reopening is a significant development for the community, providing a dedicated space for dogs to exercise and interact, and for their owners to connect with fellow pet enthusiasts.
