A Year of 'Yes' - Pastor Joe Putting Reflects on Faith, Growth, and Global Outreach in Anniversary Book

Pastor Joe Putting of Tomoka Christian Church celebrates the anniversary of his book, "We Said Yes," a collaborative work with Mark Atterbury that chronicles the church's mission-driven growth and outreach efforts. With 38 years in ministry and a significant tenure in Ormond Beach, Putting's narrative focuses on the church's commitment to global church planting and community service, inspired by a biblical call to discipleship. The book, developed through a detailed process with Atterbury, serves as both a reflection on Tomoka Christian Church's journey and a motivational guide for other congregations. Emphasizing teamwork, faithfulness, and a proactive stance, "We Said Yes" advocates for a dynamic approach to church mission and community engagement.

Seabreeze High Students Cast Their Votes in Pizza Wars for Next Year's School Menu

Volusia County Schools' School Way Café conducted "Pizza Wars" at Seabreeze High School on March 12, part of a district-wide initiative to select pizza brands for next year's school menu. Around 80 student athletes participated in a blind taste test, with the event aiming to gather preferences from 1,200 students across all school levels by week's end. Autumn Garrison-House, a coordinator, highlighted the focus on student satisfaction and nutrition. The initiative, which has grown since a similar event five years ago, is supported by the Food Matters Task Force, ensuring only the most favored and nutritious options make it to the menu. Seabreeze High serves about 900 meals daily, indicating the significant impact of these selections.
