FDOT Unveils $15.9M Pedestrian Safety Project for Ormond-by-the-Sea

FDOT revealed plans for a $15.9 million pedestrian safety project in Ormond-by-the-Sea during a recent community meeting. The initiative, set to begin in fall 2025, will introduce 14 new crosswalks, resurface A1A, and adjust speed limits to enhance pedestrian safety. Strategic measures include installing RRFBs and widening sidewalks. Similar initiatives aim to prioritize pedestrian safety along A1A, with further projects in the pipeline.

Flagler and Volusia Counties Prepare for Construction on State Road A1A Seawall Projects

Construction is set to commence on buried seawall projects along State Road A1A in Flagler and Volusia counties, starting the week of March 18. Crews will begin by placing signage, followed by the shifting of traffic lanes on March 21 to facilitate construction. Single-lane closures with flagging operations will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day. The Florida Department of Transportation will provide updates, and information is available on the project webpage. Bosley will present a movie poster to Reverend Dr. Gillard S. Glover at the First AME Church of Palm Coast, where Chisholm worshipped. The film will premiere in select theaters before its release on Netflix.
