💇‍♀️ New Phenix Salon Suites Opens at The Trails

Phenix Salon Suites has officially opened its doors in Ormond Beach, celebrating with a ribbon-cutting at its new location inside The Trails Shopping Center. Owned by local entrepreneurs Tina and Paul Peck, the franchise offers private, fully equipped suites designed for independent lifestyle professionals in the beauty industry.

Tina brings experience in education and marketing, while Paul is a partner in a financial firm. Together, they're helping local creatives grow their businesses in a space that feels more like a sanctuary than a salon. Phenix now boasts over 45 locations in Florida alone, and this one is ready to welcome stylists, estheticians, and more.

With support from the corporate team and a community-first mindset, the Pecks hope to provide opportunity, empowerment, and a little extra glam to the Ormond Beach scene.

💰 Unlock the Keys to Business Funding at This Workshop

If you’re a Volusia entrepreneur dreaming big but feeling blocked by funding uncertainty, there’s a free event you’ll want to attend. The Funding Readiness Workshop takes place from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, at the Brannon Center in New Smyrna Beach.

Hosted by Volusia Business Resources, this hands-on session promises practical guidance on accessing capital—plus lunch is included. Learn from successful founder Al Perkinson of Bajío Sunglasses and connect directly with lenders who can help your idea take off.

The workshop breaks down complicated financial processes, helping attendees walk away with a personalized roadmap for funding success. Registration is required and space is limited, so don’t wait too long to secure your spot.

🎓 Sandcrabs Celebrate Big Wins at Seabreeze Graduation

The Seabreeze High School Class of 2025 walked across the stage at the Ocean Center on May 30 with caps, gowns, and impressive achievements in tow. Of the 345 graduates, 71% earned GPAs of 3.0 or higher, and over half achieved honors distinction. The class racked up over $11 million in scholarships and contributed more than 26,000 hours of community service.

Ten seniors are headed into military service, and many others are bound for colleges, careers, and fresh beginnings. Principal Tucker Harris leaned into the school’s coastal nickname with a message: “It’s time to leave the sandbar…you’ve got the claws to navigate whatever comes next.”

Senior speeches highlighted empathy, opportunity, and self-discovery—with one student reminding classmates that everyone’s story is rich and complex, and another drawing inspiration from the Statue of Liberty’s golden door.

It was a proud day for Sandcrabs—and the bright lamps of learning are just getting started.
