🏍️ Biketoberfest 2025 Gears Up for a Scenic Ride

Biketoberfest is back and ready to rev those engines from October 16–19 in Daytona Beach, marking its 33rd year as a can’t-miss fall ritual. Drawing around 100,000 motorcycle enthusiasts annually, this four-day rally is the sleeker, shorter sibling of Bike Week, but it still packs in a punch of festivities and freedom.

Main Street remains the heart of the action, with live music, street vendors, and non-stop people-watching. Riders will cruise the famed Ormond Loop for coastal and canopied views and make a pit stop at Daytona International Speedway for the thrilling Fall Cycle Scene races.

Born in 1992 as a clever way to boost local tourism, Biketoberfest has become a beloved event across Volusia and Flagler counties. Whether you’re there for the rumble of the engines, the camaraderie, or the coastal breeze on A1A, it’s a ride worth taking.

For those already looking ahead, Bike Week 2026 will roar in from February 27–March 8.

🚓 Ormond Beach Police Add AEDs to Patrol Cars in Lifesaving Upgrade

The Ormond Beach Police Department is taking public safety up a notch by outfitting all patrol cars with automated external defibrillators (AEDs), thanks to a $54,000 grant from Volusia County’s Opioid Abatement Funding program.

Officers—already CPR-trained—will now have life-saving AEDs on-hand, enhancing their ability to respond quickly to cardiac arrest situations, often caused by opioid overdoses. As Lt. John Borzner explained, “Even with Narcan, the heart may need that shock to survive.”

With OBPD responding to over 30 overdose calls in 2024, these AEDs arrive at a crucial time. Studies have shown that police-initiated use of AEDs significantly increases survival rates. In emergencies where every minute counts, officers may arrive before EMTs, making these devices indispensable.

City officials, including Commissioner Lori Tolland, have championed the move, emphasizing the importance of response time. “If they are the first ones to get to a site, they can start this process before the EMTs get there,” she said.

In short: more tools, better outcomes, and a stronger safety net for the community.

🥪 Beachside Angie’s Brings Flavors (and Flair) to Ormond

Beachside Angie’s, the brainchild of Philly-born chef and fourth-generation culinary artist Angie Lutts, is officially putting down roots. After years as a pop-up and one too many windy tent disasters, Lutts is bringing her gourmet deli dreams to life with a brick-and-mortar location at Fountain Square Village in Ormond Beach.

Opening September 20, Beachside Angie’s will first serve fresh pastries, homemade pies, and desserts. Soon after, expect seasonal sandwiches, soups, and salads—all made from scratch. Angie’s passion for blending global flavors reflects her Puerto Rican, Ukrainian, and Romanian heritage. Her mission? To wow every palate.

The space, located at 142 E. Granada Blvd., is more than a business—it’s a creative canvas. With plans for private, reservation-only evening dinners, Angie promises a unique dining experience that brings a taste of international flair close to home.

Her motto is simple: “Wow, that’s good.” And based on early buzz, she’s already delivering.

Beachside Angie’s will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
