JAalen Glass - Daytona Beach Police Department
🕵️♀️ Missing Teen Alert: Help Find Jaylen Glass
Daytona Beach police are asking the public for help locating 13-year-old Jaylen Glass, who was last seen leaving Hinson Middle School on Tuesday, October 21. Jaylen is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, with blonde hair and weighing around 140 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, shorts, and dark shoes.
While details are limited, police have labeled her case as “endangered,” though they have not publicly shared the reasons for this classification. Authorities are urging anyone with information on Jaylen’s whereabouts to contact the Daytona Beach Police Department at 386-671-5100.
If you live in the area, keep an eye out—and if you know anything, speak up. Every bit of information counts.

🎸 Victory Tattoo Returns with a Bash
After being sidelined for over a year and a half due to hurricane damage, Victory Tattoo in Ormond-by-the-Sea is back—and they’re celebrating in style. On Saturday, October 25, the shop will host a grand reopening bash from noon to 2 a.m. at its location at 1496 Ocean Shore Blvd.
Expect a full day (and night) of festivities including performances from seven live bands, free food and drinks, tattoo and piercing specials, and a lively costume contest. The party will also feature local vendors and a raffle, so there’s plenty to keep attendees entertained.
It’s more than just a reopening—it’s a comeback. Victory Tattoo is ready to put the ink back in action.

🛒 Trader Joe’s Countdown Begins in Daytona
Shoppers, rejoice: Daytona Beach is one step closer to welcoming its very own Trader Joe’s. Over the weekend, signage went up at the new location in Tomoka Town Center, signaling that opening day is near—though still officially unannounced.
Eagle-eyed locals spotted the Trader Joe’s logo on the store facade and monument signs, and job interviews have already begun inside the store at 1511 Cornerstone Blvd. With positions listed online and hiring in full swing, the store’s launch appears to be imminent.
Why all the buzz? The nearest Trader Joe’s is over 50 miles away in Winter Park, and fans have been pleading for a local location for over a decade. The brand’s cult-favorite snacks, quirky atmosphere, and affordable organic options have made it a must-have addition to the local grocery scene.
So while there’s no ribbon-cutting just yet, the finish line is clearly in sight.

Beachside Dog Grooming Reopens with a Fresh Look and a Beachside Flair

After more than a decade of keeping local pups polished and pampered in Ormond-By-The-Sea,, Beachside Dog Grooming has a brand-new home at 1468 Ocean Shore Boulevard. Owner Carolyn Hart, a professional groomer with more than 23 years of experience, says the move marks a fresh chapter for the beloved business — one that combines a brighter, more visible location with room to grow.
Hart began her grooming career over two decades ago, working for other salons before striking out on her own. “I groomed for about twelve years before opening my own shop,” she said. “It’s just something I’ve always loved — working with animals, making them look and feel their best.” For the last eleven years, she operated Beachside Dog Grooming in a tucked-away location that many customers had trouble finding. When that building was sold, Hart began searching immediately for a new spot — and the timing worked out perfectly.

Our Reception Area
The move wasn’t without hurdles. “The county had trouble figuring out how to permit the space,” Hart explained, noting that the previous tenant, Seadrift, had combined several units into one. “It delayed things for a couple of months, but we finally got through it.” Despite the setback, Hart was able to keep her entire team together — three groomers and a bather — and everyone is excited about the salon’s relaunch.

Bathing and Drying Station
The new shop offers expanded grooming space, fresh décor, and plenty of natural light. It also provides the visibility Hart had always wanted. “People used to say, ‘I drive by your old place all the time and never knew you were there,’” she said. “Now, they can’t miss us!”

Grooming Sadie
Looking ahead, Hart plans to expand Beachside Dog Grooming’s offerings with a small retail area and a fun new feature she calls the Tiki Treat Bar — a cheerful setup where customers can fill bags with an assortment of dog treats. The shop will also carry collars, leashes, food, bowls, and other pet essentials.
“It’s been a long road getting here,” Hart said with a smile, “but it feels great to be back — bigger, better, and ready to keep Ormond’s dogs looking fabulous on the beachside.”
