🍽️ No SNAP This Month? Free Food Distribution in Daytona Beach
Volusia County residents in need can pick up a free box of groceries at an upcoming distribution event in Daytona Beach. The event will take place on Thursday, November 6, from noon to 3 p.m. at Hope Place (1340 Wright St.).
Each box will include a variety of perishable and nonperishable food items. There are no income restrictions—just bring proof of residency in Volusia County, like a driver’s license or state-issued ID.
This distribution is part of a larger initiative funded by a $250,000 Community Services Block Grant, aimed at improving food access following Hurricane Ian. Half of the funds support food giveaway events, while the other half is helping stock the shelves at local pantries, churches, and community centers.
Residents can also use the Second Harvest Food Bank’s Food Finder tool to locate nearby food resources anytime: feedhopenow.org/find-help/food-finder

🛞 Free Tire Drop-Off Event to Reduce Mosquitoes
Here’s a chance to clean up your yard and your community. Volusia County’s Mosquito Control Division is hosting a Tire Amnesty Event on Saturday, November 15, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 801 South St., New Smyrna Beach.
Residents can drop off up to 20 tires per household at no cost. Tires must be off the rims, and only personal (not commercial) tires will be accepted. Bring proof of Volusia County residency—such as a driver’s license—and staff will direct vehicles through a drive-thru setup at the site.
Old tires left outside can collect water and become mosquito breeding grounds. This event is part of a seasonal push to reduce mosquito populations and promote healthier neighborhoods. Additional tire collection events are planned for winter and spring.
