👮 Parade Turns Bumpy: Arrest at Ormond Christmas Celebration

The holiday spirit took a detour at Ormond Beach’s Christmas parade when a 57-year-old Port Orange man ended up in jail for an impromptu run-in with police—literally.

According to the Ormond Beach Police Department, the man refused to vacate a closed-off road median during the parade. When an officer asked him to move, the man responded with yelling and a chest bump—a decision that quickly earned him a face-down trip to the ground and a free ride to jail. He’s now facing charges, including battery on a law enforcement officer.

The parade continued without further incident, but let this be a reminder: during the holidays, it’s better to bump elbows with your neighbors than officers enforcing safety rules.

🚗 Sud Stop Rolls Into Daytona Beach

If your car could use a little sparkle this season, there’s a new stop worth cruising by. Sud Stop Car Wash has officially opened a new location at 2742 LPGA Blvd. in Daytona Beach, just in time to blast away that holiday road grime.

The ribbon was cut on Dec. 5 during a ceremony hosted by the Daytona Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce. Sud Stop is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., offering consistent suds across the week.

The company isn’t new to the car-cleaning scene. With locations throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas, they bring their bubbly expertise to every wash. So, whether you’re prepping for a road trip or just want your ride looking festive, Sud Stop has you covered—foam cannon style.

🎤 Bert Kreischer Brings Full Throttle Fest to Daytona

Daytona’s race weekend is about to get turbocharged with more than just horsepower. Comedian Bert Kreischer is hosting the first-ever Full Throttle Festival on February 14 at the Ocean Center, transforming the eve of the Daytona 500 into a full-blown party-palooza.

Promising comedy, country, rock, BBQ, and beer—all under one roof—Kreischer is bringing along Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ernest, and Diplo’s country persona, Thomas Wesley, to turn up the volume. Up to 15,000 fans are expected to join the revelry, and yes, Bert himself will be performing a comedy set.

The event marks Kreischer’s latest love letter to Daytona, following his 2023 podcast taping at the speedway. Tickets start at $74.99, with VIP options for superfans. So, if your Valentine’s plans involve tailgating with a side of stand-up, now you know where to go full throttle.

💰 Finders Keepers: Florida’s $2 Billion in Forgotten Funds

What’s better than holiday cheer? Holiday cash you didn’t know you had. In November alone, Florida residents reclaimed over $55 million through the state’s unclaimed property program, and more than $2 billion still sits unclaimed.

Through the Florida Treasure Hunt website (FLTreasureHunt.gov), residents can search for long-lost funds from old bank accounts, insurance claims, uncashed checks, utility deposits, and even items like jewelry or rare coins from abandoned safe deposit boxes.

An estimated one in five Floridians has unclaimed property waiting to be claimed. It’s free to search and free to file a claim—no need to pay a third-party service. Just type in your name (try all the versions), and see if there’s a financial surprise waiting for you.

Consider it your digital couch-cushion treasure hunt—just with better odds and no lint.
