🏡 Holiday Charm on Display at Ormond Beach’s 18th Annual Tour of Homes
The Ormond Beach Historical Society once again opened the doors to the city's heritage with its 18th annual Tour of Homes on Saturday, December 13. Starting at the Anderson-Price Memorial Building, guests were treated to a day of history, architecture, and holiday spirit. The event, originally dreamed up by Joyce Benedict and brought to life by over 80 volunteers, included stops at the Nathan Cobb Cottage, the historic Ormond Yacht Club, and even the tranquil Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery.
Visitors received wristbands and tour booklets at check-in and hopped on complimentary shuttle buses to navigate the stops. Meanwhile, the Memorial Building buzzed with holiday refreshments and craft vendors. More than just a festive outing, the Tour of Homes helps fund OBHS’s mission of preserving Ormond Beach’s cultural legacy through education and community programming.
It’s safe to say the tradition of blending seasonal cheer with historic charm continues to delight.

🎁 Security First Insurance Brings Holiday Joy Through Easterseals
In a heartwarming show of seasonal spirit, Security First Insurance brightened the holidays for local children by donating 154 gifts to Easterseals of Northeast Central Florida. This annual tradition is kept alive by the generosity of Security First employees and highlights the company's ongoing partnership with the nonprofit.
“Our partnership with Easterseals has always been rooted in service and compassion,” said Melissa Burt DeVriese, company president and board chair of Easterseals Northeast Central Florida. The gesture not only supports Easterseals' mission of serving individuals with autism and other disabilities but also underscores the power of corporate generosity during the season of giving.
Security First continues to show that holiday magic can start right in the workplace—and ripple out to families in need.

🚤 Christmas Boat Parade Debuts in Ormond Beach Waters
The holiday festivities sailed to new heights this year as the Halifax River Yacht Club launched its Christmas boat parade from Cassen Park in Ormond Beach for the first time. Around 20 festively decorated vessels—including yachts, pontoons, and sailboats—glided down the Halifax River on December 20, lighting up the water with holiday cheer all the way to Daytona Beach.
While the views were spectacular, the cause was even better. Proceeds from the event support the Veterans Support Fund, a Daytona Beach nonprofit offering gifts, experiences, and essential items to local veterans. This floating festival brought together community, creativity, and compassion in one dazzling night on the river.
