Volusia County broke ground last Thursday on a new Fire Station 15 at 1159 Red John Road in Daytona Beach, replacing an older facility that had been operating out of shared space inside the county's Fire Training Center. The new building clocks in at over 12,000 square feet and will give crews proper dedicated quarters — bunk rooms, a day room, vehicle bays — for the first time.
