Local photographers were in focus as the Casements Camera Club announced winners of its 13th annual Spring Exhibit during a reception at The Casements Gallery. Gloria Lotzer captured Best of Show honors for her photograph, “Moment of Collision,” while Jeanne Figurelli earned the People’s Choice Award for “Double Vision,” selected by votes from the public. The club’s members also chose the exhibit’s other top finishers. 🚔 Two Arrested in Ormond Beach Child Abuse Case

Volusia County detectives have arrested two people following an investigation into the alleged abuse and neglect of two children, ages 12 and 14, in Ormond Beach. William J. Conner, 42, faces two felony counts each of child abuse and child neglect, while Samantha Lucas, 33, faces two felony child neglect charges. According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, the 12-year-old boy was allegedly confined in a detached laundry room without a bathroom, running water or air conditioning and subjected to other severe mistreatment. Authorities said the 14-year-old was also subjected to some mistreatment. Both children have since been removed from the situation and are in a safe place, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
