🚀 SpaceX Set for Monday Morning Launch

Early risers may get more than just coffee Monday morning. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to lift off no earlier than 6:13 a.m. June 8 from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The launch window extends until 10:07 a.m., if needed.

The Starlink 10-35 mission will deploy 29 broadband satellites into low-Earth orbit, continuing SpaceX’s expansion of global internet coverage. After liftoff, the rocket will travel on a northeast trajectory, while its first-stage booster aims for a landing aboard the drone ship “A Shortfall of Gravitas” in the Atlantic Ocean before returning to Port Canaveral.

Weather permitting, the launch could be visible well beyond the Space Coast — potentially as far north as Jacksonville Beach and as far south as West Palm Beach. Sunrise lighting may make visibility tricky, but clear skies could deliver a memorable start to the week.

🎶 Sounds of Summer Return to the Bandshell

The soundtrack of summer is making its return to Daytona Beach. The annual Sounds of Summer Concert Series kicks off June 12 at the Daytona Beach Bandshell, bringing tribute performances to the oceanfront every Friday night through Aug. 28 — with no show scheduled July 24.

Presented by the City of Daytona Beach’s Arts & Entertainment Division, concerts begin at 7:15 p.m. and feature tributes to legends spanning Motown classics, the Bee Gees, Tom Petty, Jimmy Buffett and Bruce Springsteen. Opening night on June 12 spotlights The Motowners with a high-energy Motown tribute.

Admission is free, making it an easy addition to any summer evening plans. For those wanting an upgraded view, VIP seating is available for $15.

Live music, ocean breezes and a family-friendly vibe — not a bad way to spend a Friday night.
