🍅 Tomatoflation Begins to Ease
Tomatoes have become a symbol of rising grocery costs after severe winter freezes damaged much of Florida’s commercial tomato crop. The weather-related losses, combined with production problems in Mexico, helped drive tomato prices to record levels this spring. In April, the national average price reached nearly $2.70 per pound, about 40% higher than a year earlier.
The good news for shoppers is that relief may be on the horizon. Florida growers reported a strong rebound by late spring, and production recovered significantly during May. As harvests expand in Florida and other states, experts expect tomato supplies to improve and retail prices to gradually decline this summer.

☀️ Summer Arrived, But Daylight Is Already Shrinking
Father’s Day was extra special this year because it coincided with the summer solstice, the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. The rare calendar pairing won't happen again until 2037.
The solstice officially marked the beginning of astronomical summer and delivered more than 14 hours of daylight to parts of Florida, including Daytona Beach. While summer is just getting started, the solstice also marks a turning point. From now through Dec. 21, the winter solstice, daylight hours will gradually decrease each day.
The change is subtle at first, but the countdown toward shorter autumn evenings is officially underway.

💊 Blood Pressure Drug Recalled Nationwide
The FDA has announced a nationwide recall involving more than 11,000 bottles of chlorthalidone, a medication commonly prescribed to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention. The recall was initiated after testing found the tablets failed dissolution specifications, meaning they may not break down properly and could affect how the body absorbs the medication.
The affected 25-milligram tablets were manufactured by Inventia Healthcare Limited and distributed by Rising Pharma Holdings. Officials have not reported any health problems linked to the recall, and the FDA has not yet assigned a classification.
Patients should check bottle lot numbers and contact their pharmacist or healthcare provider with any concerns.
