🎨 “Visionary Realms” Comes to Daytona Beach

The Art League of Daytona Beach is welcoming a new exhibition by New Smyrna Beach artist Denise Vezza Maggiore. An opening reception for “Visionary Realms” will be held Sunday, Aug. 30, from 1-4 p.m. at the Art League, 433 S. Palmetto Ave., Daytona Beach.

The exhibition features Maggiore’s imaginative and expressive work, which the artist describes as a “visual journal of her spiritual adventures.” Her artwork is also showcased at Galerie Elan in Daytona Beach, and she is a member of several regional arts organizations.

“Visionary Realms” will remain on display through Sept. 25, giving visitors several weeks to explore Maggiore’s distinctive artistic perspective. For more information about the Art League and its programs, visit artleague.org.

🏊 Volusia Offers Free Pool Safety Alarms

Volusia County is helping families add another layer of protection around swimming pools by distributing free pool and door/window alarms on Friday, Sept. 4. The devices will be available from 9 a.m. to noon, while supplies last, at the Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave., and Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle.

Eligible Volusia County residents may receive one alarm of each type per household. Participants must be at least 18, provide an official document showing county residency and sign a release and waiver. Households that received a county pool alarm in 2025 are not eligible for another pool alarm during this distribution.

Pool alarms alert homeowners when someone enters the water, while door/window alarms sound when an entry point leading toward a pool is opened. The county emphasizes using the devices alongside supervision and other safety barriers.
