🛒 Groceries on the Horizon: Trader Joe’s and Sprouts Eye Daytona Openings
After months of speculation, the wait for Trader Joe’s and Sprouts Farmers Market in Daytona Beach is almost over—well, sort of.
Trader Joe’s officials were recently spotted visiting the future store site at Tomoka Town Center. While the interior is coming together with shelving and cooler frames in place, there’s still no confirmed opening date. When asked about a 2025 debut, regional VP Tracy-Ann Reeves offered a hopeful “Hopefully.” Not exactly definitive—but we’ll take it.
Just across the way at the Shoppes at Williamson Crossing, construction is humming along for Sprouts Farmers Market. According to developer Harry Kay, the store should be handed over to Sprouts by the end of December, complete with a finished interior. This would mark the first Volusia County location for both brands.
While the Sprouts website has yet to list Daytona Beach as a future site, promotional signage makes it clear: it’s coming. So keep your shopping lists handy—fresh produce and Mandarin Orange Chicken may soon be just a short drive away.

☕ Faith, Foam, and Fellowship: The Boardroom Coffee Co. to Open in Ormond Beach
In a coastal twist on Sunday service, Salty Church is brewing something new at the former LuLu’s Oceanside Grill. Enter: The Boardroom Coffee Co., a community-focused café opening this December in Ormond Beach.
Robbie O’Brien, Salty Church’s lead pastor, said the shop will be more than just a place to sip lattes—it’ll be a spiritual entry point for the coffee-curious and faith-curious alike. The Boardroom aims to blend beach-town chill with meaningful connection, offering a spot for Sunday overflow, weekday small groups, and everyday locals just looking for a good cup of joe.
With seating for over 100, a patio service window, surfboard décor, and beans from local roaster Steel Oak Coffee, the café will be run in partnership with Lucid Grounds. The menu will keep things light with sandwiches, pastries, and acai bowls.
The location? 26 Bovard Ave., just blocks from the beach. The vibe? Laid-back, inclusive, and deeply local. Whether you’re in for scripture or scones, The Boardroom plans to serve both with intention.

Wondering what’s happened to Panera Bread?
We always liked to stop at Panera Bread for a coffee and pastry or some soup and a sandwich. Lately, not so much. In fact, Panera has gone downhill in a big way. This is a perfect example of what’s wrong with the private equity firms investing in businesses they know nothing about, and why start-up entrepreneurs are often wildly successful while the “bean coiunters” often destroy a great business model. Hope you find this interesting.
