Quality, Tested CBD – and Why It Matters

CBD is increasingly popular, with hundreds of products designed to provide everything from better sleep to relief and recovery to increased focus. Once you’ve figured out which CBD formula is right for you, it’s important to be able to trust that what’s in the bottle or jar matches what’s on the label.

This is where third-party testing comes in. Independent labs test CBD products, verifying the cannabinoid content matches what’s on the label and screening for the presence of heavy metals, pesticides, and other contaminants.

Unlike some companies that cut corners, CBDistillery ensures that every single batch of their CBD products are tested by an accredited lab. And these test results are posted on their website, so you can see them before you place your order.

CBDistillery is so sure you’ll like their products, they’re offering a special deal: save 50% on orders of $75 or more with code NEWS50!

🏢 Ormond Strengthens Data Center Ban

Ormond Beach commissioners unanimously approved comprehensive plan amendments Oct. 20 reinforcing the city’s prohibition on data centers.

The changes distinguish permitted business server rooms from data centers and address developments placing extraordinary demands on utility infrastructure.

Environmental advocates urged clearer definitions and broader protections, while officials noted limits on regulating land outside city boundaries.

Separately, Volusia County adopted a ban on large-scale data centers in unincorporated areas, covering facilities with anticipated monthly peak electrical loads of at least 50 megawatts.

⛳ River Bend Gets Planning Clarification

Meanwhile, Ormond Beach officials say the FAA has clarified that a full airport master plan is not required before considering proposed uses for River Bend Golf Course.

Instead, additional Airport Layout Plan work and more detailed proposals are needed. Staff will consult airport specialists and confirm submission requirements with the FAA.

Commissioners requested a public workshop, potentially in December or January. Travis Sargent urged faster action and suggested posting a timeline and supporting documents online.

No workshop date has been confirmed.

⛪ St. James Welcomes Father Paul Head

In community news, Father Paul Head has joined St. James Episcopal Church, bringing approximately 20 years of priesthood experience and a love of music.

Previously rector of St. Paul’s in Winter Haven, he was drawn to Ormond’s coastal setting, proximity to family and the church’s school.

His focus is building relationships and encouraging parishioners to share their talents. An enthusiastic cyclist, singer and bell choir participant, he values connections with people and nature.

St. James is located at 44 S. Halifax Drive, with Sunday worship at 10 a.m.

🛰️ Daytona Drone Company Wins Research Grant

Looking skyward, Daytona Beach’s Censys Technology has received approximately $500,000 in FAA funding to test satellite communications for long-range drones.

The company’s aircraft can operate up to 100 miles from their launch point. Reliable satellite connections could help bridge gaps in cellular coverage during those missions.

Potential uses include comparing infrastructure before and after hurricanes, inspecting power lines and identifying wildfire threats.

The research aims to improve dependable communications for remotely operated aircraft—helping turn aerial data into better maintenance and emergency planning.
