🇺🇸 REvive Fitness Turns a Workout Into a Tribute
REvive Fitness combined exercise, remembrance and giving during a special 9/11 flash class that raised $4,600 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Forty-two members, friends and family gathered Sept. 12 for a workout built around numbers representing the lives lost in the Sept. 11 attacks. Participants began with 343 repetitions honoring the firefighters who died at the World Trade Center and continued until the group collectively completed 2,997 movements.
After observing a minute of silence, participants finished together with 110 steps. Owner Arnold Kolozsvari said the experience created a powerful feeling of unity among the group.
The fundraiser benefited Tunnel to Towers, the nonprofit established in memory of New York City firefighter Stephen Siller, who died on 9/11.

🫧 Kombucha Bar Bubbles Up in Ormond Beach
Big Dog Kombucha has expanded from Merritt Island to Ormond Beach with the opening of First Coast Kava Kombucha at 500 W. Granada Blvd.
Owners Juli and Gerhard Claassen launched Big Dog five years ago after Gerhard’s homemade kombucha became a hit with friends and neighbors. Their first flavor, Raspberry Bliss, was inspired by Juli’s father and his fondness for raspberry tea.
Today, the company operates from a 7,000-square-foot brewing facility and taproom in Merritt Island, offering kombucha made with fresh fruit and local raw honey along with kava and other botanical beverages.
The Claassens hope their Ormond location becomes a welcoming spot for neighbors and families, expanding the community they’ve built around their beverages on the Space Coast.

🐾 Clifford Brings Big Fun to Daytona Beach
Clifford the Big Red Dog is heading to the stage as the Peabody Auditorium Foundation presents TheaterWorksUSA’s “Clifford The Big Red Dog: The Musical” on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. at the News-Journal Center.
The $25 performance is part of the Foundation’s Young Audience Series, but Clifford’s local visit stretches beyond the theater. Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens will incorporate the beloved character into its Sept. 26 World Wide Day of Play and Oct. 2 Free Family Art Night.
The Early Learning Coalition will also feature Clifford in reading activities throughout Volusia and Flagler counties and host family activities surrounding the Oct. 10 performance.
The collaboration is designed to combine live theater with reading, play and hands-on learning for young audiences and their families.
