🕯️ Family Seeks Help with Brothers’ Funerals
The family of Elijah Khalil Hawkins, 5, and Kashh Kendrell Williams, 3, is raising money for funeral expenses after the brothers drowned in a Daytona Beach retention pond.
Police believe their deaths were accidental and reported no indication of foul play.
Their uncle, Tre’Yon Mann, organized a GoFundMe supporting their mother, Tiki’Ja Mann. As of Wednesday afternoon, it had raised more than $2,100 toward a $9,000 goal.
The family says Mann’s campaign is the official fundraiser and cautions against other unverified collections.

🏍️ Biketoberfest Brings Mixed Business Results
As Biketoberfest wrapped up Sunday, its economic benefits weren’t shared equally. Tourism officials anticipated 100,000–125,000 visitors, bringing spending during a normally slower season.
But Vittorio Tiano, owner of Tiano’s Cucina Italiana, reported an unusually quiet Saturday. He says some regular customers avoid motorcycle traffic and crowds, leaving his family-oriented restaurant slower during the rally.
Tiano also cited rising food costs and less frequent customer visits. The weekend illustrates how a major tourism event can boost the area overall while individual businesses experience different results.

🎭 Cemetery Tour Gets a New Date
For those interested in Ormond’s past, there’s another opportunity to experience the Historical Society’s Pilgrims Rest Cemetery Tour.
Rain postponed the Oct. 3 evening tour to Friday, Oct. 23. Costumed reenactors share stories of early residents buried in one of Ormond’s oldest cemeteries, bringing local history to life.
The earlier October tours also featured a cannon firing.
Tickets for the rescheduled tour are $25 per person. Visit ormondhistory.org or call 386-677-7005 for tickets and details.
