🏠 New Leadership at First Step Shelter
Susan Clark is the new executive director of Daytona Beach’s First Step Shelter, where the mission extends beyond providing beds and meals.
Residents receive help finding employment, accessing medical care and recovery support, and securing housing. In September, 44 people found homes through the shelter.
Clark wants residents to feel safe, supported and connected—and hopes more community members will volunteer. Learn more at firststepshelter.org.

🎨 Local Art Helps Homeless Families
Meanwhile, 29 local artists are turning creativity into community support at the eighth annual Artists with Hearts of Gold fundraiser, Thursday, Nov. 5, at The Casements in Ormond Beach.
All art-sale proceeds benefit Family Renew Community, which provides transitional housing and educational programs for homeless families with children.
Mother-and-son artists Teri Althouse and Jon Benjamin are among this year’s contributors.
Purchase tickets or donate to Family Renew to support local families working toward stable housing.
