Tomorrow: Partly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 80s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

🎃 Stay Visible This Halloween

Volusia County EMS is reminding families to keep trick-or-treaters visible with reflective materials, flashlights or glow sticks.

Costumes and shoes should fit properly, and masks should allow children to see clearly. Use sidewalks and designated crossings, and have a responsible adult accompany young children.

Drivers can help by slowing down in neighborhoods and watching carefully near parked cars, driveways and intersections—where excited children may unexpectedly enter the road.

🗳️ Two Ormond Commission Races Await Voters

Ormond Beach voters in Zones 2 and 4 will choose their City Commission representatives on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

In Zone 2, incumbent Travis Sargent faces retired financial data analyst Jennifer Bright. In Zone 4, incumbent Harold Briley faces Planning Board member Amber Bobak in a runoff.

Growth, transparency and responsiveness to residents are among the issues dividing candidates. Only residents of each zone may vote in its race. Early voting ends Saturday, Oct. 31.

🧚 Tiny Houses Seek Your Vote

Meanwhile, a little imagination is drawing attention at Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens, where 12 locally made fairy houses are competing for a People’s Choice award.

Visit Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., and cast your vote by Nov. 14. One ballot is included with museum admission; additional ballots cost $1.

The creations support the OMAM Guild’s fall fundraiser, with the winner announced during the Thou Art Afternoon encore performance on Nov. 15.

🏁 Veterans Day Brings Racing and Music

Daytona International Speedway will host Ford’s Proud to Honor Veterans Day Classic on Wednesday, Nov. 11, combining racing, live music and a salute to military service.

Two-driver teams representing each military branch will compete in Ford Mustang Dark Horse Rs on Daytona’s road course.

Zac Brown Band headlines the entertainment, alongside Jo Dee Messina, Russell Dickerson, Brittney Spencer and Warren Zeiders. Tickets are available online, and USA Network will televise the event from 8–10 p.m.
