🚘 Work Trucks Spark HOA Dispute
An Ormond Beach family is challenging Wexford Reserve’s restrictions on parking business-wrapped trucks in their driveway.
Mike and Jodi Skroskznik use the vehicles for their pool-cleaning business and believe Florida’s updated vehicle-parking protections support their position. Following attorney-assisted mediation, proposed rule changes are heading to a community vote.
An attorney interviewed by WFTV supported the family’s interpretation. The station reported it was awaiting responses from the HOA president and management company.
The dispute remains unresolved as homeowners prepare to vote.

🎖️ Veteran Homelessness Falls in Volusia
Back in Volusia, officials report a 32% decline in veteran homelessness since January 2025, with the total dropping from 56 to 38 by September 2026.
The number of known unsheltered veterans fell from 27 to six.
County officials credit collaboration through Volusia Values Veterans, a partnership supporting housing, employment, recognition and other veteran needs.
Community efforts include transitional housing, new homes and a veterans’ residence in DeLand. The program also provided more than $49,000 in admissions, discounts and fee waivers for veterans.

🦁 Beachside Lions Keep Serving
That community spirit is also evident at the Ormond-by-the-Sea Lions Club. Members recently helped clean the beach and A1A near Tom Renick Park and cheered cyclists finishing Cycle to the Shore, which raised $825,000 for multiple sclerosis.
Eight members renewed their blood sugar screening certifications. Free screenings can be arranged by calling 386-441-4421 or emailing [email protected].
The club now meets at GraceLife Beachside Church, 6 Sandra Drive, on the first and third Wednesdays each month at 6:30 p.m.

🛸 Released Files Revisit Roswell Claims
Beyond local headlines, an iHeart report describes newly released Pentagon files containing allegations about the 1947 Roswell incident.
The documents reportedly include a 2002 affidavit describing an unusual craft and small bodies allegedly seen in a guarded military hangar. The account resembles statements attributed to former military officer Walter Haut.
These are witness claims, rather than confirmation that extraterrestrial remains were recovered. The report says the government has not confirmed physical evidence of alien life.
Roswell’s enduring mystery continues—but the distinction between an allegation and verified evidence matters.
